Quick Engagement with Fairytale Ending

by c barkley
(north port, fl)

My wedding was as carefully planned as could be given only 3 months to organize! My husband and I have moved all over in the 6 years that we have been together so when he proposed out of the blue the weekend after 4th of July I couldn't have been more surprised!

The most important detail to me was having my family at the wedding. My brother and his family live in New York and are only able to come down once a year so my options were:

1. Don't include them
2. Wait a year and a half or -
3. Plan the wedding to fit with their already planned October vacation.

I obviously chose 3 so I had quick work to do!

The second most important detail was the location. I wanted something outdoors and October was the perfect month in Tennessee to have the wedding on a beautiful mountaintop at sunset with the Fall foliage in the background- I couldn't have asked for a better setting.

My dress started out as being the least amount budgeted item, but when I found the perfect dress I wasn't concerned about the price- just how it made me feel so much more like a princess bride than anything else I had tried on- I had to convince the owner to sell me the floor sample though due to my time constraints!

I had a wonderful 8 1/2 month pregnant matron of honor who helped me so much! I couldn't have done it without her! The weeks before my wedding were filled with designing my beautiful bouquet of calla-lilies, pearls, and feathers to lining up the photographer and baking 150 loaves of bread and 150 cookies to decorate for our guests.

The final cap on my fairytale wedding was the beautiful wedding march my aunt, who is a professional musician, wrote just for our wedding. I have never felt more like a princess....

I guess my story is mostly how we didn't have the time to devote to the wedding or the funds to be extravagant but it was absolutely a perfect fairytale wedding.
