Fairytale Wedding Dresses Make
Little Girls Dreams Come True

Most little girls are simply captivated the princesses wearing fairytale wedding dresses in their storybooks. They dress their Barbies in romantic wedding dresses like Cinderella gowns and innocently start dreaming of their own Disney fairy tale weddings with their Prince Charming.

Old fashion wedding dresses of the Edwardian and Victorian era are one of the interesting trends that have recently made a huge comeback in bridal fashion with designs taken from historical books and documents creating elegance and sophistication in style.

And with a little bit of creativity and resources and knowing what style looks good on you, even brides planning low budget weddings can make those little girl dreams come true and still wear Cinderella’s ball gown on their wedding day.

When you think of a fairytale princess, you may envision a very puffy white dress, with a long train, balloon sleeves and corset style bodice.

A wedding dress adopted from the pages of history or storybooks should be white, with long trains, long veils, high neck and full sleeves. Compared to today’s corset wedding dresses, an old-fashioned style usually had a long flowing skirt and a corset blouse and a jacket.

Medieval dresses had long full skirts, lace up backs, puffed up shoulders, and squeezed corset waists- the Juliet dress as called is flattering for any shape or size. Modern brides can however experiment with sleeveless varieties.

By incorporating some different designs, you can create amazing blends of old fashion wedding dresses with a touch of the modern, such as opting for an off-the-shoulder style with the traditional cut of the ballroom skirt.

Accessories should be made minimal with a 'must' Tiara along with a stone embellished choker in the neck. A string or big pearls also may do wonders.

How about glass shoes for a Cinderella look? Well, not exactly glass of course for low budget weddings, but clear plastic with crystal and stone embellishments will give that shiny fairy princess look.

Shoes are best to be worn feminine like a ballerina or strappy shoes with high heels. To top off the look perfectly, hair should be in a tied up in a bun or loosely tied up with some curls near the neck.

To complement the bride’s gown, bridesmaids’ dresses in pastel shades should accent fairytale wedding dresses. You can even dress them in mid-length or tea-length dresses for the dancing princesses look.

A wide range of materials are available for the bridesmaids’ dresses including with velvet, brocades, heavy satin or silks, chiffon, lace, organza or silks; metallic fabrics of gold, blue and pink.

Consider the time of year and the weather when choosing the heaviness or lightness of the dress fabrics.
